Established in 2015, Global Peace Centre Canada is a Canadian registered charity that envisions “a world at peace.” To that end, our mission is to “create hope and opportunity for positive societal change by providing peace education to the leaders of tomorrow.”  GPCC is housed in the Kindrid Centre for Peace Advancement at Conrad Grebel University College affiliated with the University of Waterloo.

Connection to Ziauddin Yousafzai

The work of the GPCC is inspired by  Malala Yousafzai - Nobel Laureate 2014 for education - and by the work for peace and education pursued by her father, Ziauddin Yousafzai. Mr. Yousafzai is Honorary Chair of the Global Peace Centre Canada. He is an educator, the co-founder and co-chair of the Malala Fund, and the United Nations Special Advisor on Global Education.  Ziauddin received an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo in 2015.
