Established in 2015, the Global Peace Centre Canada (GPCC) envisions “ A world at peace”. To that end, our mission is “Creating hope and opportunity for positive societal change by educating the peacebuilding leaders.”
  • Our vision is inspired by the courage of Malala Yousafzai –– Nobel Laureate and Honorary Canadian Citizen and by the work for peace and education pursued by her father, Ziauddin Yousafzai. Ziauddin is the honorary Chair of our board. He is championing our cause for peace building. Ziauddin received an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo in 2015.
  • GPCC is uniquely positioned to develop and implement peacebuilding strategies because we are collaborating with practitioners and educators associated with the UN Working Group on Youth and Peacebuilding , McMaster University, Wilfrid Laurier University, University of Waterloo and University of Toronto so our initiatives are evidence-based and cross-sectoral.
